TB - Tall Bearded Irises
Tall Bearded Irises are the most common group of irises, often called garden irises. In this group you will find large-flowered irises, usually 70 cm to 120 cm high. In Europe, they come into bloom on around 10th May. We cultivate them with love in South Moravia region of the Czech Republic. They are easy to grow and fully frost-resistant. From tens of thousands of bred varieties you can find here our selection of the best, easily grown sorts coming mainly from European and American breeders. Flowers are large, mostly wavy, sometimes of exotic shapes, one- or multicolored, differently dotted or stripped, often pleasantly fragrant. Flowers grow on one main and 2-4 side stems. Each of them has 1-3 buds, so 7-12, even 15 flowers gradually bloom in one plant. These irises love sunny locations; they can be planted individually, or together with other perennials. Flowers are very suitable for cutting.

Tall Bearded Irises - higher than 90 cm
Tall Bearded Irises - up to 90 cm (71-89 cm) high
They can also be sorted by flower color, fragrance or flower type:
Self – i.e. one or more tones of one color
Bicolor – i.e. two different basic colors
Plicata – striped, dotted, splashed etc. on a white or colored base
Space Ager – with beards extended to a few cm in length - in the form of horns, spoons...
Broken Color – basic dark color with wild light splashing, or light background with dark pattern
We accept orders all year round, bareroot plants are sent (by Zásilkovna or Czech Post) from mid-July to the end of September. If you want to order both bearded irises (TB, SDB, MDB) and peonies, you need to order peonies on a separate order, because we send bearded irises in the summer, but peonies in autumn (or in early spring). Together with bearded irises - siberian and spuria irises, daylilies and hostas can be ordered.

GYPSY SMILE (Nejedlo 2016)
Standards creamy white, slight beige rim, falls black purple, ruffled, white eye and blue rim around prominent fiery red beards. Flowers pleasantly fragrant. Excellent sort recently bred by Czech grower P. Nejedlo.
GIRL'S FAVOURITE (Blyth 1995/96)
Medium bright pink self, beards bright coral. Ruffled flowers, vital and healthy growth. Pronounced sweet fragrance.
QUEEN'S CIRCLE (Kerr 2000)
Standards white, falls white with dark blue edge. Flowers beautifully ruffled. Beards orange red, pale yellow at end. Slight fragrance. Height 80 cm.
SLOVAK PRINCE (Mego 2003)
Standards white shaded orchid lavender, slight blue veining, gold rim, falls dark velvety blue purple, slightly lighter rim, white area around gold beard with purple veining changing to brown, ruffled. Slight sweet fragrance. Superb, world unique sort from the Slovak breeder.
PIRATE AHOY (Blyth 2005)
Standards bright lemon yellow, falls red burgundy to ruby, bright yellow even starburst pattern extending half way down. Beards bright golden yellow.
AMPLIFIED (Ghio 2000)
Deep orange yellow standards, slightly darker on the edges. Wide orange yellow falls with red beards. One of the best variety in this colour category. Exceptional form with strong ruffles. Late flowering season.
OSAY CANUC (Burseen 2001)
Standards pure white, falls white, with purple lines darkest at beard and lighter at edge. Beards carrot red, fuzzy white horn with tan hairs at tip. Height 90 cm. Fine sort of Space Age Type.
LOUISA'S SONG (Blyth 1999/2000)
Standards lilac orchid, ruffled and laced, falls red lavender to orchid lavender, lilac orchid edge, incredibly ruffled. Beards bright tangerine. Slight sweet fragrance. Lavishly ruffled and laced excellent sort.
TOUR DE FRANCE (Keppel 2004)
Standards white, center flushed yellow, falls golden yellow, velvet texture, ruffled. Beards orange in throat, yellow at end. Slight sweet fragrance.
CHARLESTON (Keppel 2002)
Standards white with broad blue violet edge, falls white with darker blue edge. Flowers very ruffled and laced. Beards blue white, light yellow in throat.
DIPPED IN DOTS (Black 2011)
Standards chalky slate white, greenish gold flush up midrib, wide brassy gold blended band. Falls white, plicata washed mid purple overall becoming heavier toward edges, narrow plum brown band rimmed brass gold. Beards violet white base, tips old gold. Pronounced sweet fragrance.
CONJURATION (Byers 1989)
Standards white, lightly infused pale violet blue, falls white, suffusing to deep bright amethyst violet edge. White, horns-like beards tipped tangerine (SA Type). Flowers ruffled. Late flowering, very long and slim inflorescence. One of the most popular irises.
DRACULA'S KISS (Schreiner 2009)
Standards dark purple, falls elegantly ruffled, dark purple-black. Beards bright tangerine orange. Robust and healthy growth. Plant height 90 cm.
QUEEN OF ANGELS (Schreiner 1995)
Heavily laced white self, tinted lavender Beards white, tipped yellow. Late flowering. Excellent branching (3 or 4 branches with 10 or 11 buds).
GNU (Kasperek 1994)
Standards light lavender ground washed medium lavender and off-white with medium violet splashes. Falls same, heavier medium violet purple on shoulders. Beards burnt orange tipped violet. Flowers ruffled and flared, slightly fragrant.
GOLDEN PANTHER (Tasco 2000)
Standards and falls heavily ruffled, gold overlaid bronze, highlighted darker bronze at edges. Beards mustard yellow. Height 85 cm.
HIGH CHAPARRAL (Schreiner 2006)
Standards golden-yellow, ruffled, falls pink-violett with honey shadow around beards lighter eye. Beards yellow-orange. Beautiful, big flowers (15 cm), very ruffled. Very popular.
SUPREME SULTAN (Schreiner 1998)
Arched golden ochre yellow standards and solid rich mahogany-red falls, ruffled. Beards mustard yellow. Big flowers. 8-9 buds on extra-sturdy three-branched stems. Boldness in size, color and habit. Excellent sort.
DESTINED TO DANCE (Blyth 2010)
Standards icy white with a slight blue cast, falls icy white, bluish cast and faint blue center line on first day, then fades away, greenish yellow at the base. Beards white base tipped lemon. Wide, flared and ruffled flowers, slight sweet fragrance. Exceptional stem branching.
ROYAL HARLEQUIN (Blyth 2009)
Standards beige to buff, falls lilac violet overlaid reddish brown, more violet at edge, a small spray pattern around the beards. Beards muted gold. Pronounced sweet fragrance. Strong and nice stem branching.
CANDY COLOURS (Blyth 2009/10)
Standards coral orange, lightly ruffled, falls coral orange-sienna, large violet flash beside and below beard, ruffled and flared. Beards orange. Fine pleasant fragrance.
RARER THAN RUBIES (Blyth 2006)
Standards light burgundy-rose, falls burgundy to plum red, velvety. Flowers ruffled and laced. Beards tangerine red. Sweet fragrance. Height 100 cm.
MYS HORN (Muška 1999)
Standards pure white, heavily laced and ruffled, falls white with lemon yellow infusion at base, ruffled, laced. Beards light yellow with long white spoon. Slight pleasant fragrance. Excellent sort from the Slovak breeder.
BRIDAL PARTY (Johnson 2006)
Standards eggshell white, slight buff-pink upward flush, buff gold flush at edge, lightly laced gold edge. Falls cream ground, medium gold haft, slight downward flush to narrow peachy buff edge. Beards bright tangerine red. Slight fragrance. Strong, vigorous and healthy growth.
