Bareroot Herbaceous Peonies
We send strong roots of flowering size with a minimum of 3-5 buds. Orders all year round, peonies are sent bareroot in fall (October, November, December) and early in spring (late February and March).

MACKINAC GRAND (Reath 1992)
Very large (17 cm), semi-double flowers, brilliant orange red hybrid with three or four rows of guard petals, all ruffled, golden yellow stamens in the center. Very attractive huge red flowers are fragrant, excellent for cutting. Plant height 90 cm.
MARIE LEMOINE (Calot 1869)
Flowers large, double, compact and flat at first; lemon-white with a trace of crimson on edges of a few petals, develops to a large, globular form, pure white, with a few yellow petaloids in the collar. Moderately floriferous; stout stems and foliage. Flowers pleasantly fragrant. Plant height 80 cm. Marie Lemoine (Calot 1869), white, cream at centre. Very large. Rose type. Medium height. Sweetly scented.
PINK VANGUARD (Seidl/Hollingsworth 2005)
Flower large, semi-double, pink. Long, broad guard petals surround several rows of inner petals having excellent substance. Opens a cool medium pink hue, passing lighter as the flower ages red accents at center. Very early flowering, vigorous plant with flowers that are resistant to late freeze damage. Plant height 80 cm.
SHE'S MY STAR (Klehm 2000)
Flowers double (Bomb type) multicolored pink and cream with tightly packed petals. The double row of round, large guard petals nicely hold the flower form. The blossom top matches the delicate color of the guards. Flowers slightly fragrant, good as a cut-flower. Strong stems, plant height 70 cm.
COMMAND PERFORMANCE (Hollingsworth 1996)
Full double, bomb-shaped flowers, very large (23 cm), cardinal red color, fragrant. Petals tightly packed to the center. One flower per stem, no sidebuds, so it is perfect for cutting. Plant height 80 cm.
CHRISTMAS VELVET (Anderson 1992)
Flowers large, double ball form, velvety red, pleasantly fragrant. The flowers bloom on strong stems above a leafy bush, so they are easily visible even from a distance. Thanks to the strong stems, the flowers are very suitable for cutting. Profusely flowering and healthy growing peony with nice foliage, plant height 70 cm.
CORAL MAGIC (Klehm 1998)
Flowers large, semi-double, cup-shaped, reddish-pink to deep rose coral with two to three rows of petals, with contrasting golden-yellow stamens in the center. The flowers grow singly on strong stems that have pretty dark green foliage. Plant height 80 cm. A beautiful novelty from a well-known American breeder.
ATHENA (Saunders 1949)
Flowers single, large, ivory-white to apricot-yellow with prominently present lavender flares at the base of the flower petals, contrasting golden-yellow stamens in the centre. It is a quadruple hybrid created from P. lactiflora x {(P. macrophylla x P. mlokosewitschii) x P. officinalis} breeding. Light fragrance. Early blooming, floriferous and vigorous with strong stems. Only rarely offered. Recommended. Plant height 80 cm.
JOKER (Rogers L./A. 2004)
Full double flowers, 1 - 3 per stem. Flowers open dark pink, matures to white-centre with pink picotee edge. Plants 80 cm high, strong stems. A beautiful peony, stunning flower colour changes during a day.
FLORENCE NICHOLLS (Nicholls 1938)
Flowers double, blush white, with a scarlet suffusion deepening to center, opened flowers are of rose shape, very wide and narrow petals intermingled. Very fragrant! Strong stems, very vigorous and floriferous.
ANGEL CHEEKS (Klehm C.G. 1970)
Flowers double, soft cameo-pink with red freckles on the top of the petals, double row of pink guard petals, big full bloom. Normal grower, strong stems, big leaves, disease resistant. Excellent sort, giant flowers (15 cm), pronounced lovely floral fragrance. Charming!
BUCKEYE BELLE (Mains 1956)
Extremely dark red (almost chocolate-red) semi-double, medium-sized flowers, petals are sprinkled with golden stamens. Striking maroon fall foliage. The very dark color, low plant height, compact habit makes this sort a very special.
CATHARINE FONTIJN (Van der Valk/Van der Zwet 1952)
Beautiful double pink flowers blended through white with yellow glow from center. When the flowers mature the yellow stamens become more visible and the petals nearly turn to white. Very fragrant. An excellent cut flower. Vigorous grower, very floriferous.
CORA STUBBS (Krekler W.H. 1985)
Flower Japanese form, sassy raspberry pink with large vanilla ice cream scoop center. Flowers pleasantly fragrant. Vigorous plant habit and lush foliage, one of the best!
CORAL SUNSET (Wissing 1965)
Flowers semi-double, deep orange-coral color, deepest of all Corall sorts and nicest fragrance in this group. Many thick, strong stems, very vigorous grower. Excellent as a cut-flower.
DUCHESSE DE NEMOURS (Calot 1856)
Flowers double, cupped, creamy white, very pleasant, strong sweet fragrance. Very floriferous. Many strong stems, excellent foliage. Old, but still very very popular sort, also good as cut-flower. Its fragrance is so sweeeeet!
FESTIVA MAXIMA (Miellez 1851)
Flowers large, globular, double, pure white with a spot of red on a few central petals. Flowers with delightful fragrance, very floriferous sort. Stems strong, foliage large, dark green.
JAN VAN LEEUWEN (van Leeuwen 1928)
Flowers of japanese type, white, large petals surround a small center of deep yellow staminodes. Good bush habit, thick and strong stems make these sort especially good for cutting.
HENRY BOCKSTOCE (Bockstoce 1955)
Full double, huge dinner plate size, rich cardinal red, excellent flowers. True red flower color comes from it being a Paeonia officinalis x lactifora hybrid. The last flowering peony of this hue in the season. Excellent grower, but slow of increase, sparse bush, heavy and tall stems. Highly prized as a cut-flower. Stunning presentation in the garden.
KANSAS (Bigger 1940)
Double, rosy red to deep pink flowers. A very showy flowers, freely blooming sort. Normal grower, thick and very strong stems makes Kansas especially good for cutting.
PIETERTJE VRIEND WAGENAAR (N.J.Friend 1996)
Large double flowers, light pink heavily dotted dark pink. Unique sort with perfectly round finely dotted flowers. Healthy growth, nice foliage, simply a jewel among peonies! Till now very rare new sort, beautiful, recommended!
RED CHARM (Glascock 1944)
Sensational deep red double flowers. Flowers large (20 cm), perfectly formed. Mild sweet fragrance. The stems are strong and hold the large blooms erect. Excellent foliage. One of the best red coloured peonies, excellent for cutting.
SARAH BERNHARDT (Lemoine 1906)
Very large, double, dark rose-pink flowers with a slight red edging in the middle of the flower. A well known variety named for a famous actress, very floriferous, fragrant. Slow grower, many stems, widely used as cut flower.
SORBET (Klehm 1995)
Large (15 cm), double, remarkable flowers are buildt of several levels of small vanilla-cream petals sandwidched between larger strawberry and raspberry colored petals, with a pale yellow color...like a sorbet! Unusual and pretty, with a very nice fragrance which fill your garden. Long lasting flowers, ideal for cutting.
