Bareroot Herbaceous Peonies
We send strong roots of flowering size with a minimum of 3-5 buds. Orders all year round, peonies are sent bareroot in fall (October, November, December) and early in spring (late February and March).

AMALIA OLSON (Olson 1959)
Flowers large, well filled, globular, double, purest white imaginable. Flowers deliciously scented. Stems strong, foliage large, dark green. Amalia Olson is extremely suitable for planting cut flowers as well as for planting in gardens.
ANGEL CHEEKS (Klehm C.G. 1970)
Flowers double, soft cameo-pink with red freckles on the top of the petals, double row of pink guard petals, big full bloom. Normal grower, strong stems, big leaves, disease resistant. Excellent sort, giant flowers (15 cm), pronounced lovely floral fragrance. Charming!
ATHENA (Saunders 1949)
Flowers single, large, ivory-white to apricot-yellow with prominently present lavender flares at the base of the flower petals, contrasting golden-yellow stamens in the centre. It is a quadruple hybrid created from P. lactiflora x {(P. macrophylla x P. mlokosewitschii) x P. officinalis} breeding. Light fragrance. Early blooming, floriferous and vigorous with strong stems. Only rarely offered. Recommended. Plant height 80 cm.
AUGUSTIN D'HOUR (Calot 1867)
A medium to large (12 cm) velvety red bloom that is a very different shade of a bright chestnut blood red or reddish mahogany. Strong stems, suitable to natural gardens, good in combination with perennials.
AVALANCHE (Crousse 1886)
Flowers large, globular, double, blush-white of waxy texture with a faint pink center and very narrow crimson edges to a few petals. Compact, generally incurved flower with the tips of the outer petals recurved from its ball-like center. Fragrance strong but not sweet.

BUCKEYE BELLE (Mains 1956)
Extremely dark red (almost chocolate-red) semi-double, medium-sized flowers, petals are sprinkled with golden stamens. Striking maroon fall foliage. The very dark color, low plant height, compact habit makes this sort a very special.
CARNATION BOUQUET (Seidl 1996)
Pretty double vivid rose, very bright flowers. Petals of uniform size give a carnation-like appearance. Wonderful spicy fragrance. One flower per stem, excellent for cutting. Very popular, but rare, seldom offered peony.
CATHARINE FONTIJN (Van der Valk/Van der Zwet 1952)
Beautiful double pink flowers blended through white with yellow glow from center. When the flowers mature the yellow stamens become more visible and the petals nearly turn to white. Very fragrant. An excellent cut flower. Vigorous grower, very floriferous.

Flowers large (15 cm in diam.), double, light salmon tailored flower with marbled red petals in the center. Fragrant when first open. Strong stems, height 90 cm. Late term of flowering in the season.
CHRISTMAS VELVET (Anderson 1992)
Flowers large, double ball form, velvety red, pleasantly fragrant. The flowers bloom on strong stems above a leafy bush, so they are easily visible even from a distance. Flowers large, semi-double, cup-shaped, reddish-pink to deep rose coral with two to three rows of petals, with contrasting golden-yellow stamens in the center. Huge, double flowers, soft pink with tints of salmon. Very fragrant. Strong grower, healthy dark green foliage, average height 100 cm. Very popular peony, one of the largest flowers among all peony sorts.
